2004-ben harmadik alkalommal került sor a „Versenyben a világgal” kutatási program kérdőíves felmérésére, melyben mintegy háromszáz vállalat vett részt. Tanulmányunk a vállalati informatikával kapcsolatos válaszokat elemzi, három fő témakör: az informatikai infrastruktúra (információtechnológia), az alkalmazások (információrendszerek) és az informatikai funkció ellátása (információmenedzsment) mentén. Elsőként a hazai vállalatok informatikájának helyzetképét mutatjuk be. Bár megfigyelünk pozitív tendenciákat, a fejlett országok gyakorlatához való felzárkózásról nem beszélhetünk. Tanulmányunk második fejezete a helyzetképet a két korábbi adatfelvétel eredményeivel veti össze. Ennek során kiemelten vizsgáljuk a piacgazdaság megszilárdulásától az EU csatlakozásig tartó nyolc éves időszakban 35, mindhárom mintában szereplő vállalat válaszainak alakulását. E nem reprezentatív minta összességében hasonló tendenciákat jelez, mint a helyzetkép, de szembetűnővé válik, hogy az átlagosan mért fejlődés mögött ellentétes tendenciák, továbbá az átlagot is torzító kiugró vállalatok állnak. A tanulmány harmadik fejezetében arra keressük a választ, hogy a vállalati informatika fejlettsége és a vállalat jellemzői, teljesítménye között milyen kapcsolatok figyelhetők meg a mintában. A válaszadó vállalatokat a fenti három témakör, valamint az árbevétel-arányos informatikai költségvetés mentén relatív fejlettségi kategóriákba soroljuk. Az összevetések azt jelzik, hogy gyenge, de létező kapcsolat van a vállalati jellemzők, a teljesítmény és az informatika fejlettsége között. A tanulmány következtetése, hogy a vállalati informatika hatást gyakorol a versenyképességre, de további vállalati funkciók és külső tényezők összefüggésrendszerében szükséges vizsgálnunk ezt a hatást. --------- Around three hundred companies completed the questionnaire for the "Competing with the World" research study, which was conducted for the third time in 2004. Our study seeks to analyse the responses to the information technology topics in the following three areas: infrastructure, applications, and management. First, we would like to provide an overview of the current strength of IT at domestic corporations. Although we can observe positive tendencies, we cannot yet talk about having reached the standards of practice in developed countries. The second part of our study compares the current results with that of our past two surveys. We will focus our review on 35 selected companies (which participated in each survey) to examine how their responses changed over the eight-year period between the consolidation of the market economy and Hungary joining the EU. This non-representative sample shows similar overall tendencies to what currently can be observed in the IT arena, however it also highlights that underneath the big picture there are some outliers distorting the average as well as even some reverse tendencies. The third part of our study explores the relationships between the companies' financial and operational performance and the strength of their IT department. We assigned the participating companies into three relative development categories based on their responses as well as their percent of sales to IT spend. The statistics show that there is an existing, though weak, relationship between corporate performance and the strength of IT. The conclusion of this study is that though IT has an impact on corporate performance, this has to be examined in the context of other internal as well as external factors.
